It is an honour for the Royal Spanish Mint to welcome to Madrid the international numismatic community \u2014 the mints, the industry that supports us, the distributors, the collectors and the wider world of numismatics.<\/p>\n

Our thanks go to all of you for bringing the Mint Directors Association<\/em> (MDA) to life. Through it, we extend a warm welcome both to those who are already members and to those who are not yet: our doors are open.<\/p>\n

As hosts of the Mint Directors Conference 2027 (MDC 2027), we wish to carry the vibrant, welcoming spirit of our people into each and every event on the programme.<\/p>\n

From 18 to 21 April 2027 we will have the pleasure of sharing the 33rd edition of the MDC, taking up the baton from the most recent gatherings in Cape Town (2025) and Ottawa (2023).<\/p>\n

For our institution, the origins of this conference hold a very special meaning. The FNMT-RCM was one of the founders of the conference in 1962, when it began as \u201can association of colleagues and friends\u201d: a group of European mints that chose to join forces and share knowledge. More than six decades later, that spirit remains as alive as ever, bringing together today a wide range of members from dozens of countries around the world.<\/p>\n

We like to look to the future without losing sight of the road we have travelled. That is why we will have the chance to show you settings as special as our Royal Mint Museum (Museo Casa de la Moneda), which opened its doors in 1867 and is today one of the foremost museums of its kind in the world, safeguarding more than two thousand five hundred years of minted history. We will also share a place as singular as the Royal Mint of Segovia (Real Ingenio de la Moneda), today a museum, which housed Spain\u2019s first mechanised mint in the 16th century.<\/p>\n

Mints are the guardians of an extraordinary cultural and technical heritage, and the MDC gives us the opportunity to share it with all of you.<\/p>\n

MDC 2027 will be built around a theme that captures the great challenges of our time: the three T\u2019s \u2014 Transformation, Trust and Technology. The transformation of a sector that must reinvent itself without renouncing its essence; trust in currency, as a guaranteed promise on which life in society rests; and technology, the engine of the innovation and security on which our shared future depends. These three ideas will shape the plenary sessions, the presentations and the working meetings of these days.<\/p>\n

No transformation is achieved alone. That is why we hope, above all, that this gathering will serve to strengthen ties and multiply the exchanges between our teams \u2014 the exchanges that drive excellence and innovation. Because together, we go further.<\/p>\n

MDC 2027 will also be an invitation to discover Madrid and Spain. Alongside the working programme, we have prepared experiences that reflect the very best of our heritage, with visits to remarkable places in the capital where history, art and Spanish hospitality come together.<\/p>\n

We look forward to welcoming you to Madrid, with our doors open. It will be a privilege to receive you and to share an unforgettable gathering for the entire global minting community.<\/p>\n
